    • Sturdy wool shoes like these are a comfortable choice for any middle-class impression. Each one is carefully crafted by hand out of durable sheep's wool with a hard leather sole for the utmost durability. Fabric, particularly woolwomen's shoes were very common in the 18th century as they would have been less expensive than leather. While the perfect working shoe, these add a touch of elegance, especially when paired with one of our many buckle options.

We took the name Jenny from the canting crews of the 18th century. A famously successful pickpocket Mary Young was given the moniker Jenny Diver. The character Pirate Jenny was written into John Gay's Beggars Opera. The name Jenny is a nod to the common and working class women of the era.

      Shoe buckles are sold separately.

    my first 18th century shoes

I was a little nervous how this pair fits on my wide feet. These fits just right! the fabric breathes well and very comfortable.

    Love the shoes!

These shoes are very comfortable and fit perfectly. My only suggestion is to "rough up" the soles with sandpaper or other means before wearing, since the new soles are slippery. Thanks for a great product!

A must have for the reenactment wardrobe

True to size, beautifully crafted. Bought in person at an event, each and every employee had a sense of pride and knowledge that only added to my pleasure of purchasing these shoes.
