History shows that there is very little that can beat a quality wool blanket on a cold or damp night. With the soft heathered grey color and measuring 66"x90", this 90% wool / 10% rayon blended blanket is the perfect combination of function and comfort. One does not have to look hard into the historical record to find wool blankets being used for everything from shawls wrapped around the shoulders of tired soldiers and over the backs of horses, to wrapping up children on a cold night in the 18th century home all over the western world.
The only reason I give a 4 star is because I prefer the 100% blanket that samson offers over this one. I purchased both this 90% blanket as well as the 100% blanket and both are great. However, I do recommend that anyone considering this blanket consider the 100%, as it is significantly less scratchy. I personly use my 90% on the sofa and generally will wear longer pajama pants to avoid the scratchyness. If you are alright with that small gripe, the blanket is very warm, comfortable and a great purchase. Thank you to the Samsons
I am well pleased. I threw it in the dryer on ‘air’ setting with some tennis shoes and it came out nice and supple. I also used it this past weekend and after a storm it got pretty wet. Set it out to dry and it looks and feels great. I am expecting decades of great service from this blanket. I’m also pleased with the color. Glad I got it.
This blanket was a blessing on our last reenactment. Beautiful, warm, easy to brush off, and decently water repellent. Would happily buy more!
